Using Marijuana In Your Recipes
Marijuana
use in food and beverage recipes is becoming increasingly popular
today. Medical patients often cannot tolerate the effects of smoking,
and many increasingly health-conscious people prefer to ingest
marijuana through food or drink, therefore bypassing the effects of the
smoke to the lungs.
Most medical marijuana forums have a recipe section, along with most other marijuana
forums. Recipes can be found here for literally anything from "soup to nuts".
Some people prefer to use the posted, tested recipes, while others
add marijuana to their own recipes, exclusively. The main thing to
remember
when cooking with marijuana is to always experiment with the amounts
used in each recipe. This way you will come to know what your own level
of
tolerance is.
The rule of thumb to remember is "less is better than more" - you
can always eat more to produce the desired effects, but if you ingest
too high
a dosage you will just have to deal with it until it wears off. The
effects of ingested marijuana are slower to feel, but the same effects
often
last longer. And eating foods with marijuana in them are more effective
when taken on an otherwise empty stomach.
Marijuana leaves
and shake are most commonly used in food recipes. This can be something
as simple as
sprinkling the desired amount over a bowl of microwaved, ready to eat
ravioli, or something as gourmet as incorporating marijuana into your
own
special, homemade spaghetti sauce.
Cookies and brownies are a particular favorite when cooking with
marijuana. These can be made in advance and stored for several days.
They can
also be discreetly tucked into a pocket or purse, to be eaten at
desired times throughout the course of the day.
Many people prefer to use marijuana in drinks. These range from a
sweetened or unsweetened marijuana tea, to health shakes or milkshakes.
Again,
these can often be made in advance and stored for use as desired.
There are some people, however, who will use nothing but marijuana cannabutter. This is
made from the byproduct of the marijuana plant, the stems and leaves and shake, and is a good way to get the
most out of the harvested plant, by saving the buds for smoking.
Cannabutter can be used on a daily basis, for something as simple as buttered toast or a
buttered bagel for breakfast, to adding the butter to breads, main dishes, and in the making of various candies and desserts.
Once you decide to take that step and use marijuana for cooking,
it will open new doors to your dietary habits. You will experiment with
dishes
unknown to you previously, and expand your diet in a most pleasant,
extraordinary way.
